I'm a Hardline fan, mostly for the lightness of the broom and the shape of the head. But I think the only way to get around broomgate is to use a single manufacturer at a spiel, but that means we go the way of Formula 1 with a single tire manufacturer? ... In golf when faced with better clubs and golf balls making shooting par much easier for the pros, they were able to increase the number of traps, narrow the fairways, ondulate the greens and add yardage to the holes. Curling doesn't have similar options such as making the ice more difficult to play/read and the rocks less predictable. We have to do it with rules. Limiting the impact of brushing is necessary but there are other things to look at. Now that runbacks and board weight hits around guards are made most of the time, teams with last rock often bail out early and blank. By eliminating the option of blanking, teams wouldn't/couldn't simply wait for a better situation. A total ban on blanks may not be necessary. A conditionnal blank end rule might be worth a try on the WCT. Conditionnal in the sense that if you are behind in the score, you can blank and retain last rock advantage. But if the game is tied or worse yet,if you are ahead in the score, you can't blank. You're thoughts on blanking Nolan, would be appreciated.

MarcoAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14624414127498833128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3677910885085930890.post-47202711040010162762016-05-11T10:12:02.248-06:002016-05-11T10:12:02.248-06:00Glad you're still writing Nolan! I sure hope it goes your way as I watched too many Boring games this past season.
